Realme GT Master Edition 2

Realme GT Master Edition 2

Why is the Realme GT Master Edition still worth buying in late 2022 in Pakistan?

Newly released phones have become unworthy purchases due to price increases brought on by high PTA taxes, high dollar rates, and economic disruptions. However, for those looking for a premium mid-range device with all the features they deserve, the Realme GT Master Edition is the best option. With its unmatched specs in this price category, the Realme GT Master Edition, which was released on July 30, is a high-end, mid-range killer gadget.

Other high-end mid-range smartphones, such as the Redmi Note 11 Pro, Realme 9 Pro Plus, Samsung A33 5G, and OPPO Reno 6 5G, were introduced in 2022; nevertheless, the dollar rate and PTA taxation made these phones too costly.

Realme GT Master Edition and Realme GT are the two new smartphones that are part of the company's GT portfolio that was introduced in Pakistan. A scaled-down variant of the Realme GT, the Realme GT Master Edition is a competitor in the PKR 10,0000 class. Better front optics, a different 64 MP primary camera sensor, various colors, and a little smaller battery than the Realme GT are among its many features. It also has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G CPU.

Inspired by the style of baggage, the Realme GT Master Edition is the first smartphone in Pakistan to come equipped with a Snapdragon 778G CPU. With its 360Hz touch sampling rate, 64MP triple camera setup, 65W fast charging, and 120Hz AMOLED display, the Snapdragon 778G offers fast, seamless performance at an affordable price. But because of the short battery life and lack of stereo speakers, this phone is a step backward.

Realme GT Master Edition – Is the Master Edition Display and Design enough?

Similar to the Realme X7 Max, the realme GT Master Edition is a smartphone with a 6.43-inch Full HD+ 20:9 aspect ratio Fluid AMOLED display. It has a brilliant display with a maximum brightness of 1000 nits, superior color reproduction, and sunlight readability. The panel has DC dimming available through realme Labs, which makes it comfortable to watch in a range of lighting scenarios.

With a refresh rate of 120Hz and a touch sampling rate of 360Hz, the device provides a smooth user experience, making it perfect for both gaming and UI navigation. It improves video playback quality and supports HDR10, which is especially evident on YouTube and other services. But HDR10 isn't compatible with Netflix. Although the Bright HDR video setting increases brightness for HDR material, it quickly depletes the battery.

Although it does not have a notification light, the phone has an ambient display that shows notifications and contextual information all day long. Because of AMOLED screen technology, edge illumination turns on as alerts come in, saving energy even though this function uses more power.

With its 32-megapixel camera housed in a tiny punch-hole, the gadget can take sharp selfies similar to those taken with the OnePlus Nord 2. The phone can be quickly unlocked with an in-display fingerprint reader, and it also offers strong haptic feedback and 4D vibration for gaming.

The Master Edition has a high-end vibe and comes in two variations: one with a Voyager Grey vegan leather design and the other with a 3D glass back. Unfortunately, the ordinary models of Cosmos Black and Luna White have a plastic back, which detracts from their elegant design. Although it is splashproof, the phone does not have an official IP classification.

The Realme GT Master Edition and the Realme GT have many external similarities, including button and display layouts. The Voyager Grey version, on the other hand, sticks out because of its distinctive concave vegan leather shape, which is evocative of a luggage grid.

To sum up, the realme GT Master Edition has a distinctive appearance, a vivid display, and seamless performance. Despite not having stereo sound or HDR10+ certification, it is still a strong choice for its price range.

Realme GT Edition 2: Does It Really Enhance Camera Performance?

The rear of the Realme GT Master Edition smartphone is equipped with three cameras: a 64 MP main camera, an 8 MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 2 MP macro sensor. While the 8MP ultra-wide lens offers a larger dynamic range than similar smartphones, the main camera captures bright, clear shots in low light. But in somewhat darker places, it has trouble with sunlight refraction and details.

During daytime hours, the front camera performs well, offering bokeh pictures and an HDR setting. Videos in 4K at 30 frames per second, 1080p at 60 frames per second, slow motion at 120 frames per second, and 720p at 240 frames per second may all be recorded with this device. It makes advantage of the rather good EIS, and the ultra-steady mode is quite helpful. It was far better with the Nord 2 with OIS.

The rear of the Realme GT Master Edition is equipped with three cameras: a 64 MP primary camera, an 8 MP ultra-wide camera, and a 2 MP macro lens. The 8MP lens features 1.12 micron pixels, compared to 0.7 micron pixels in the main camera. Despite having 88.8 micron-sized pixels, the 2MP lens produces very good close-up images.

In addition to 16 megapixels for photos, the primary camera has a 64 megapixel option. The phone's night mode takes crisp, clear pictures, although it overexposes them sometimes. The phone has an excellent dynamic range and takes excellent pictures in normal lighting conditions.

The rear of the Realme GT Master Edition is equipped with three cameras, the primary one being a Sony IMX 686 sensor. Although the camera lacks OIS, EIS functions rather well. Realme has unique camera capabilities like Dynamic Bokeh and Neon Portrait, and its picture processing is significantly superior to those of its competitors in this price range. The Realme GT Master Edition's robust internal algorithms make it possible for the camera system to function incredibly effectively. Pro Nightscape Mode, for example, lets users adjust the shutter speed and take expert nighttime pictures.

Additionally, the 32-megapixel Sony sensor on the selfie camera performs admirably, with an aperture of 2.4. The nighttime non-grainy portrait is the ideal use case for the selfie algorithm.

Can the Realme GT Master Edition 2 Handle Intensive Gaming?

This smartphone, the Realme GT Master Edition, has Qualcomm Kryo 670 CPUs with innovative architecture that can boost speed by up to 40%. It is powered by the Snapdragon 778G 6nm Mobile Platform. The bigger and more effective cooling system of the Adreno 642L GPU allows it to run smoothly even in graphically demanding games and prevents overheating during extended gaming sessions. The phone features a bigger and more effective cooling vapor chamber, measuring up to 1729.8 mm².

The Realme GT Master Edition received scores of 496997 on Antutu Benchmark, 784 on Geekbench for single-core performance, and 2800 for multi-core performance. The CPU was throttled to 87% of its maximum performance in the test. It can write data at 541 MB/s and read data at 0.94 GB/s. Playing games on the Realme GT Master Edition is enjoyable thanks to its HDR visuals and Ultra frame rate, which allow for 40–50 frames per second. On the other hand, during hot drops in Pochinki and the Military Base in Erangel, the device can maintain a steady 55–60 FPS.

The smartphone remains cool even after extended gaming sessions because of the great performance of Realme's thermal optimization. Navigating and playing games will be more fluid with support for a 360 Hz Touch sampling rate.

How Quickly Does the Realme GT Addition 2 Recharge from 0% to 100%?

The Realme GT Master Edition features "Dart Charging," one of the fastest charging technologies in its price segment, capable of charging the phone from 0 to 100% in just around 35 minutes. Despite its slightly smaller 4300mAh battery compared to the Realme X7 Max's 4500mAh, it still offers impressive charging speed.

In terms of battery life, when using Wi-Fi throughout the day, it provides approximately 4 hours of screen time, even less on 4G. The device supports Super Dart 65W rapid charging, allowing for a full charge in around 35 minutes. It achieved an average One Charge Rating of 15 hours and 14 minutes, which is reasonable given its battery capacity.

The device's battery life is notably affected when brightness and refresh rate are set to the maximum of 120Hz, limiting it to around 5 hours. However, setting it to 60Hz may extend the battery life to around 6 hours, which is typical for this price range. The 65W Fast Charger from Realme, included in the box, charges the phone rapidly from 0% to 100% in just 33 minutes. Notably, the phone doesn't support wireless charging.

Is Realme GT Addition 2 Software as Smooth as It Claims?

Like the newest Realme phones, the Realme GT Master Edition is powered on Android 11 and has Realme UI 2.0. It is anticipated to receive Android 12 and includes the July Android security patch. Up to 5GB of extra RAM may be expanded via the phone's DRE (dynamic RAM expansion) capability. Amazon Shopping, Prime Video, Amazon Music, Booking.com, Dailyhunt, Josh, Facebook, Finshell Pay, LinkedIn, Netflix, Snapchat, and Moj are just a few of the applications that come with it. The Finsell Pay app is a system app, however most other applications are uninstallable.

With 7.8GB of usable RAM and 4GB of free RAM while default programs are running in the background, the phone has 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM. It employs UFS 2.2 storage and has 256GB of free space, with sequential read rates of around 1022 MB/s. With tools for customizing fonts, color accents, and themes, the Realme GT Master Edition has an improved UI. But pre-loaded applications like Booking.com, Amazon Music, Amazon Shopping, DailyHunt, HeyFun, Hot applications, Moj, and Josh bombard the notification shade with dubious-sounding clickbait names that are bloatware that ruins the user experience.

Despite these issues, Realme UI 2.0 with Android 11 offers a blotwareless look similar to stock Android with the highest optimizations among other Chinese brands. The UI is simple, decent, and easy to use.
